Inside Out Experience
Just minutes after launching our raft the action started, fast and furious, wet and wild. First on the docket was the infamous “Widow Maker,” a massive wall of water that did much more than initiate us to the cold, glacier-fed water of the Kananaskis River. It put an ear-to-ear grin on all our faces. It made the adrenaline pump through our veins. It got the hootin’ and hollerin’ going. And, of course, it got us very, very wet.
Indeed, a rafting journey down the Kananaskis River with Inside Out Experiences was a perfect, family-friendly adventure that was chock-full of pulse-pounding thrills. Wave after wave, especially on the upper portion of the river, made the trip an edge-of-our-seat adventure. We surfed a wave, we paddled hard, we got into an epic water fight with the other boats, and we learned about the local natural geography from our professional guide.
Family friendly rafting on the Kananaskis River
Getting “soaked” is par for the course on a white-water rafting adventure. (If you want to stay dry, maybe try golf or chess instead.) Inside Out Experiences is all about the adventure on fast-flowing white-water. Located just an hour west of Calgary, the Kananaskis River is about as easy as it gets for rafting enthusiasts. This is an easy half-day adventure that is ideal for any age group and experience level.
Enjoy the beauty of the Canadian Rockies
Unquestionably, the first half of the trip packed the biggest punch in terms of white-knuckled thrills. But the peaceful float on the lower half of the trip (we were on the water for about two hours total) gave us all an opportunity to kick back, relax, and enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Gazing at the jagged, snow-capped mountains and watching the eagles and osprey soar were highlights. And so was getting an “immersive” experience in refreshing, glacier-fed water!
