The Gentry Espresso & Wine Bar
Goat milk caramel latte? A custom-made cup of joe crafted on a manual espresso machine? Or the most delicious vegan breakfast muffin you have ever tasted? All of the above and all in a day’s work at The Gentry.
If you love good coffee and good food, as does the owner, you’ve come to the right place. Think past the fresh baked goods that go so well with coffee and drop in at lunch for unique sandwiches or tourtiére and a salad. The menu changes daily. And once the sun is over the yardarm stop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail and a mouth-watering array of tapas appies. Brunch is a must: try the avocado toast with homemade tomato relish or the new Gentry Scramble.
Yes, the fare is divine, but there’s so much more. The Gentry is a community meeting place, an art space (rotating art shows featuring local artists change throughout the year), and a venue for local musicians.
Lately, the café has begun to collaborate with local producers. That goat milk caramel latte uses Early Dawn Goat Farm’s caramel sauce, which is also used to make the café’s salted caramel cookies – which Early Dawn sells at the farmers’ market. They also use Saskatoon berries from the Solstice Berry Farm in everything from pies, pancakes and scones to a new cocktail called the Saskatini.
Only in Cochrane you say? Yes, indeed, The Gentry is one of a kind.
